SUDEP Aware is a not-for-profit organisation, founded in 2008 and run
by dedicated volunteers based in Toronto.
Our mission is to promote knowledge and understanding
of Sudden, Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) through:
EDUCATION of professional and lay communities
to enhance SUDEP awareness and ensure early, accurate identification of SUDEP deaths. RESEARCH to understand the causes, risk
factors and possible prevention strategies for SUDEP. SUPPORT for those affected by SUDEP,
via collaboration with support agencies, other families and health care professionals.
